    How long did you laptop stay in customs

    As of 3:18 this afternoon, my T61 made it to Louisville. It looks like it's going through customs.. Any idea how long this process typically takes?

    Hmm... it entered customs at 3:18 yesterday afternoon. It's still showing as being in customs this morning... Guess it won't make it here today.

    I called UPS and they told me that it's a pretty large shipment from Lenovo. It consists of 401 units. So I guess it might take a bit longer. I guess the good news is that there should be some happy people the end of this week or early next week :)

    projected friday, so maybe it makes it. the horror stories around here are growing exponentially, both in number and level of absurdity. kind of anxious to make sure I don't get a box full of plastic shards at this point.


    Hey, does lenovo put a special signature requirement, or can anyone sign for it- will they leave it w/my apartment office?

    No... Someone has to be at your door to sign for it. So you can have someone hang out in front of your apt or your can be there, but they won't leave it with a neighbor. I just got off the phone and asked them that very question. i'm going to have to work from home one day this week because of it so I wanna make sure that I pick the right day. Mine is slated to be delivered on Friday as well... I've got 4GB of memory waiting for it :) muhhuhuhahahuhahuhhaaaaa

    Hmm, if anyone can sign for it, they might let my apartment manager sign for it. I get packages left w/them all the time.

    But what you are saying is they have explicitly instructed NOT to do this- guess it depends on if leaving w/neighbor is the same level as leaving w/on site property manager.

    Maybe I'll call. Good idea.
