How long Usually shipping wise

Ordered my T400 on Friday June 19 th. It gave me an estimate ship date of July 2 nd. Are those usually pretty accurate? It would be nice if I got it early

 

I got my Thinkpad in about 10 days after I ordered it online. Very fast.

 

I also ordered my t400 on the 19th..I got an estimated ship date of july 1st. odd, but better for me i guess. =]

 

It probably has to do with what you got in it. Did you order the LED screen? Mostly it has to do with what type of screen you order I think. I got the LED one with a webcam.

 

Most of the time, the estimated ship dates are very conservative.

I ordered on 6/11. Estimated shipping date was 6/24. My laptop shipped 6/17, and I should receive it probably the middle of this week (ThinkPads are shipped direct from Chinca, and do need to pass through customs).

Better for Lenovo to be conservative in case something happens that affects the timeline.

 

no led screen just a regular wxga screen with a camera.

Regardless, 6+ days feels like forever. Lol. Especially when you're so used to a laptop, and forced to use the decade old desktop. >_<

My ordered just shipped today as well, ordered on 6/17, shipped on 6/22.

 

Dam it mine still says July 2 and I ordered same time as you guys :-( their goes my whole day How much did you guys customize your T400? I added alot of stuff to mine. Did you buys yours straight up with no add on's ?

 

I got a quote for mine on the 10th and ordered using the quote on the 17th.

 

i didnt add much to mines. i just got the basic setup thats 849$ right now and added a camera. i hope it comes on wednesday cause i got two day shipping... .....im so excited lol.

EDIT: right now i'm actually using a t400 as we speak. A friend of mine that has one(that i didnt know that had one) let me borrow it and check it out. I LOVE IT. No keyboard flex, no flex at all on the laptop. I checked out all the areas that are prone to have flex; the pci slot, the palm rests and the keyboard. Nothing at all, i love it! I also included the screen shot of my shipment date. I ordered it last friday, june 19th and it shipped out today.

Just got my email saying my T400 has shipped sweet and I got 2 day delivery...

 

I got my tracking number this morning!

 

What day does the tracking number show being dropped off to you? And it looks like you and I got pretty much the exact same setup. Except I got the LED screen and the DVD/RW burner. I paided $849 as well...

 

The tracking number page does not have an estimated delivery date yet.

 

you know whats wierd; there was an estimated delievery date when i first checked the tracking # but now its dissapeared......regardless i should get my laptop( or anyone else with the same ship date as me) some time tomorrow.

 

I'm guessing Thursday for mine. Since it says it didn't actually ship until today. I got 2 day delivery so that makes it Thursday.

 

I just received mine. Ordered 6/11. Shipped 6/17. Arrived 6/23.

I don't feel any of the keyboard flex that early T400 users have had issues with. I'm currently creating the recovery discs (always the most important first thing to do.

For reference, here's how mine is configured (I did make some changes from stock)

P8600 processor
2GB of RAM in 1 DIMM (second 2GB I ordered, but haven't installed yet)
160GB hard drive, DVD writer
1440x900 screen, CCFL, with camera, Hybrid graphics (ATI+Intel)
Fingerprint reader, Bluetooth, Intel 5300 Wifi, Expresscard+7-in-1 card reader
Windows Vista Business 64-bit with XP downgrade and media

 

Screw the recovery disks! Clean install FTW!

Just tracked mine says tomorrow it will be delivered. Although I have doubts. Its says its coming from China. I thought it had to be in customs for a while.

 

I just got mines in the mail this morning! I was up quicker than a crack addict when i heard that doorbell from the ups guy. I do have 3 complaints with build quality. The mouse keys are rattling, theres a bit of flex in the keyboard(I can't tell when im typing, only cause i checked lol)....and in the palm rest theres a small amount of flex, like the chassis and the plastic isn't close.

But all in all, i love it! I hate vista though, its pissing me off. I'm gonna do a clean install on this baby. =]

 

Did your come from China as well? Also how about some pictures

A question about Recovery and OS install. I thought that Lenovo doesn't send any system disks, so you do need to burn the recovery disk with OS from hidden partition for any future installs? Than you can make your own clean install using those, or am I missing something? Also, since I ordered Vista Business with XP Pro downgrade, what are they actually going to preinstall on my T400s? Also curious how come you guys didn't wait for another week to place an order for T400 so you can get free Win7 (official registered) upgrade? My sales advisor at Lenovo told me this program will start on June 26 and any ThinkPad received after that date (not the day of order but when you actually receive it) will quality for the official upgrade. That was actually a reason why I went with XP Pro to continue running my applications and than switch to Win7 when that becomes available.

 

I didn't even know about that windows 7 thing. If I had I would have waited..

 

I also had no idea about windows 7. I will give my sales rep a call and ask'm bout this. I'm gonna demand a boot cd and key from'm.

 

No offense to Lenovo, but some sales reps are clueless. When I called yesterday, the guy I spoke to started with "T400s hasn't been released, we don't have a spec, please call back in July". Than I told him to check Lenovo website and its availability; so after he took his foot out of the mouth I was able to place an order...

How about other questions in my post above, anybody have any idea?

 

I ordered an x200 on 6/20, received shipping confirmation yesterday, and tracking is available today. It left Shanghai CN today and there is no estimated arrival date yet.

I can't complain, much faster than the original 7/2 estimate.

 

I'll have to talk to the sales advisor; since Lenovo shipped me two T400s by accident (I only ordered one, they're going to be sending out return shipping labels for the second), perhaps I can wangle something at the same time. If not, we'll have Windows 7 licensing at work and I can go that route.

If you order Vista with XP downgrade, the system will come with Vista loaded, and (if you checked the right boxes during order) a set of XP restore discs. You'll create the Vista restore discs from the necessary ThinkVantage utility, and then you'll have restore sets for both.

 

My order was placed over the phone, so no boxes were checked. I assume its the same mechanism with XPP downgrade. Thanks for the info.

... oh and I assume you meant 2x T400 in plural, not 2x T400s laptops

 

Well, my T400 is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow 6/26 which is not bad at all considering that I ordered on 6/17, so it basically took one week and one day. Perfect timing too since I have no classes tomorrow so I'll be able to play around with it and set it up for next week!

Finally, the tracking page updated today and it's coming form Forest Park, GA down to Miami, FL.

 

They sent you two and you're gonna send one back?
I guess thats a good samiritan thing to do. lol.

 

Well, I haven't gotten the bill yet, but I'm sure I got billed for two as well.
