Sorry to ask a lot of questions, but right now, I deciding to buy this laptop when I get back to my home country. It is the T420i
    here is the spec:
    Intel i3-2350M
    Windows 7
    Intel QM67 Express chipset
    14" HD LED (1366 x 768)
    Nvidia NVS 4200M (1GB memory)
    500GB SATA (5400rpm)
    Intel 1000 BGN
    bluetooth 3.0
    build-in webcam
    finger print reader

Do you think it will survive five years without dropping too much on performance?

Performance wise, I don't really see a huge problem with it, but if your like me, the resolution of the display will drive you nuts.

1366x768 on a 14" looks pretty large (buttons and text). Not much real estate.

The processor may be a little low end, but you can always pop in an SSD later and drastically boost performance.

The performance of a computer generally goes up slightly (objectively, compared to when you first get it, since newer drivers tend to provide better performance) provided that you keep drivers up to date and perform routine maintenance such as a reformat every couple of months, and a dusting every several months. I have never had a computer die on me, though I tend to switch to a new computer every 2 ~ 3 years (the old ones still work and I keep them around), so unless you are torturing the thing it should survive. I mean, my friend spilled all sorts of stuff on her T420i (ranging from beef soup to Arizona iced tea) over the past year and it's still alive.

One thing I found weird is that is it suppose the 420i only have intel HD graphics? Why they can have a nvidia graphic?
