My last ThinkPad was a T500...not too long ago. Have the quality of screens gotten any better? Which series of ThinkPads would you recommend for someone concerned with screen quality (colors, brightness, etc)?

    Thanks.

The X220 has an optional IPS screen. If I wanted a good screen, that's the way I'd go. The FHD on the T520 or W520 might be worth a look too.

In terms of contrast and color reproduction, the T500's LG WSXGA+ CCFL display is actually above average, and is quite nice compared to many new Thinkpads' displays. That said, screens that will be better are the T520/W520/T510/W510's FHD wide-gamut screen and the X220/X220t's IPS screens. In the other Thinkpads, screen quality will likely be worse than what you're used to (although brightness will likely be higher).

    EDIT: beat to it :p

I've never owned the T400/T500 series but the screen on my new T420 is fantastic!
