Hi,
I was just wondering how the progress is on Lenovo orders? I ordered a week ago, and it says "In process". Will it change before it gets shipped? Ex. will it says "Building" or something?
-
I ordered my X200 on 08/05/08 and it has stayed at the in process level since day one. Today is 09/15/08 so it has been almost a month and a half being delayed. They have claimed it is due to a shortage in the 9 cell battery, and today they are saying there was an error in my configuration on their end after they did a final hardware test that they do before shipping. So who knows where the mistake was in my order... I'll keep you updated and hope you don't experience such a long wait as I have...
-
I ordered 10 days ago and mine still says "In process" as well. Estimated ship date is 9/30.
-
Not in my experience. It will sit "In Process" until it shows "Shipped" and presents a tracking number.
A call to customer service may net more details such as whether the order is in credit verification, being assembled, etc. -
I ordered a T400 on Sunday 8/31 and it arrived Friday 9/5. I was happy!
Actual status updates on the order on their site are pretty vague and useless though from what I saw with my order. -
Credit verification, gee, that was a fun expierience. My order still says--in process. Oh well, perhapes I'm just being slightly impatient. My only real complaint is that the reply you get to an asked question varies from one rep to another. One salesman said my order was good to go, and another rep said I had to update billing info with my bank , for my order was on bank hold. My bank said that there was no record of anything being on hold, and after going back and forth between Lenovo and my bank, I finally got an E mail saying "congratulations your order has been accepted". Now this was a full week & a half after I placed my original order, so I guess that Lenovo is just now actually putting my build configuration in line with other orders to be built.
-
There are no steps between "in process" and "shipped." I was ranting about this in another thread. If Lenovo just gave more info on the order status website, I think it would save them a lot of phone calls from people wanting to know when their laptops are going to ship.
-
"Bravo!"....................
-
That's what I thought. I got the invoice/order confirmation mail the day after I made the order, and they put a hold on my bank account as well.
However, when I e-mailed my sales rep at Lenovo, i got this answer:
"I have sent a note in to the credit team to look at your order. They are behind with orders and are taking longer then expected to release an order form a hold."
Guess there are delays all over the place. -
I thought the shipping delays only applied to thinkpads ordered before all the problems with Lenovo's site got cleared up. I guess not. Or the problems are still there. Anyways, I ordered a W500 with 2 day shipping last Saturday and it wont ship until 9/29. But my delays are nothing compared to the delays I've been hearing about from you guys. I wonder, does choosing 2 day shipping actually delay your notebook?
-
After 2 est ship date delays, I just received a cancellation notice on a fully loaded T61p order I had placed on 08/03. Notice states I have 5 days to respond but basically no T61p will be built regardless.
Now before I hear about how the T61p is discontinued, this order was placed when Lenovo still offered them and the shift in ship dates would imply they intended to fulfill the order.
At any rate, anyone think there might be something to gain by responding...say a hardship discount on a T400 or T500??? -
Ask to get compensation for your troubles as this to me is unprecedented. At the very least, you should get $100 off your next order approved by a supervisor. Then go online and get the best price you can.. CPP seems to be the best deal at the moment, just do a search online to find a code.. Then after you place the order, you have to wait until your credit card is charged and call them up again pointing to the "notation in your account which would be in your cancelled order number" about the credit... It is a long process but will be worth it if you can get something back. -
asides from the fact that my Tracking shows the package leaving Alaska TWICE, everything is on schedule (extreme sarcasm)!
-
So sorry to hear of cancellation, New Egg is showing a T61p in stock with the older T7500 CPU and Vista ultimate. ( I want XP pro) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834146335&Tpk=T61p I guess the word is out that there is a T61p shortage for I just noticed 3rd party resellers have raised thier prices on the P model. Thats a double ouch.
-
They build them in Alaska?? Wow..
-
Mine went from Hong Kong to Alaska in 1 day.
Then onto Ontario CA the next day.
Exception for customs review...I hope it clear up/they aren't taking the laptop apart ;-) -
I ordered on August the 5th, it's still "in process"......at Lenovo forum.....some people are actually waiting 5 weeks for a T61 too.....still there are many that receive their laptop before the estimated ship date which is good
-

Tobra, that sucks about your cancellation. I have the contact info for one of the Canadian CSRs, and you could call her and demand to speak to a supervisor. You would no doubt get a sweet deal on whatever your replacement will be.
-
I placed my order for an X200 on 09/11 with a 2.4 GHz, 4 cell, Vista Business w/XP downgrade, 160 GB 7200RPM, and 2 GB of RAM. The estimated ship date is 09/25. We'll see.
-
I placed an order for my U330 on 9/05 and received a 10/03 ship date, then a 9/30 ship date, now a 10/06 ship date... hopefully it doesn't get pushed back more.
-
I don't get how this works:
First I get the order confirmation, then after a day I get a "Thanks for the purchase"-mail, and they put a hold on the order amount in my bank account. Then some days later the hold goes away, and when asking Lenovo they say it is in line for credit check. Wouldn't it be easier to just have the hold on the bank account, and cash it when they ship the computer?
Also, the Lenovo sales rep confirmed a shortage on the 9-cell battery. He could not say whether or not the order will be further delayed, but I guess it's a fair chance for it :/ -
Ours is not to question " why ", but to buy a Lenovo,... or shop at Best Buy.
-
My est ship date just got bumped from 17 September to 1 October http://www.consumeraffairs.com/computers/lenovo.html
-
T61--Well, I just spoke to some guy from Lenovo, swears that he will upgrade me to the T500 if my order cancels, I'll Believe that when I see it, says that the T61's are starting to move out better now, so since I dont have another laptop lined up, I'm gonna stick it out just a lttle longer.
-
I ordered a Y730 on 9/5 with a ship date of 10/3 So far it still shows a ship date of 10/3.
'keeping those fingers crossed' -
Thanks for that link Fulltilt. I feel much better now. lol
-
Unfortunately I dont feel any better. Retail sales is a dirty business , I used to sell big screen TV's on commission, I have knowledge of the type of mentality that goes on behind the friendly sales pitch, and thats what scares me. Over the internet, they dont even have to look you in the eye.
-
hehe My point was I don't feel much better about ordering from Lenovo after reading about those problems. But then we all know that every notebook no matter who made it has a chance of having problems and getting someone from customer service who really doesn't care about your problems.
-
Yes, you are right.
-
I ordered a w500 on sept. 10, its on track to be in my hands by the 24th
-
Congrats ! When was your original shipping date?
-
It was shipped on the 15th
-
3 Sept- initial T61 order/ 17 Sept est shiping date/ est ship date moved up to 1 Oct/ 25 Sept -$1100 T61/T9300 XP Pro -delivered by man wearing brown shorts/ stay tuned for mini review.(made it from China To my front door in TWO days)
-
Ordered on the 13th, should be arriving tomorrow!
-
Progress seems to be backwards on orders. On another forum someone says they ordered an Ideapad 8/19 and was pushed all they way back to 10/24. He canceled then thought about it and reordered and his new order has already shipped.
-
ordered on 9/27 should be here 10/13
-
I ordered four t61 thinkpads August 29, Lenovo website shows the order occured on August 31!
Status is still IN PROCESS
The first estimated shipping date was Sept 9, then Sept 16, then Sept 29, now October 13!
To see other people cancel their orders and re-order and get them before mine is about ready to make me pop! To make matters worse, the customer service rep called me on the 18th to tell me they would ship the 19th! Then I called them on the 23rd and they said the order would ship out last week! Then last night the estimated shipped date changed to October 13.
This is ridiculous -
Well the day has come. My estimated ship date has arrived and..........
Status : In Process... but at least the estimated date hasn't changed. Hopefully just a delay in updating.
I am going to start searching for another laptop but I will not cancel my order until I decide on another laptop and maybe in that time they will get it shipped. -
I ordered a Y730 on 9/21 and now its been pushed back for the third time to 10/21. If Lenovo would only fix this shipping problem and they would dominate the market, but i guess they are slow in the cabeza.
-
My order of a Y730 on 9/5 with an estimated ship date of 10/3 just got pushed back to 10/24.
-
No way. You ordered your Y730 on 9/3 and now it has a ESD of 10/24? Omg i ordered mine on 9/21, which is 3 weeks after yours, so my ESD of 10/21 is already obsolete and Lenovo is just waiting to push it back.
-
For the past few weeks, orders have been processed quite quickly. Things might have changed with the increased shortage in batteries.
-
Ordered a T400 on Sept 24, shipped Oct 6. Took a bit longer than some others have posted here for the T400, and I don't believe I ordered anything that would have increased the build time.

Had this recent experience with customer support this morning:
Please wait while we find an agent to assist you...
You are currently at position number 1 in the queue.
You have been connected to LENOVO WEBCHAT:
LENOVO WEBCHAT: Thank you for choosing Lenovo Chat service, this is "Agent", How may I be of assistance today?
Customer: Hello, can you help me understand how my order is doing?
Customer: customer number xxxxxxxxx
LENOVO WEBCHAT: Sure..
Customer: order xxxxxxx
Customer: I saw that money was withheld from my account and then put back in...
LENOVO WEBCHAT: When is order was transmitted to the warehouse there was a Hang occurred to this order and there is a Highest Executive team working on this order, I do apologize we will not be able to give you an Estimates Ship Date for this order right now.
Customer: what does a Hang mean? And when will I know that it is moving through the process?
LENOVO WEBCHAT: There is some issue with the order an we do not know what is the issue.
Customer: Who can I discuss with to determine what the "issue" is with the order?
LENOVO WEBCHAT: We have a Highest Executive team working on this order, and you will not be able to talk to any one about this issue, because all you tell you the same.
I changed the name of the agent (and I use that term loosely). I have an issue and I can't even find out WTH it is!
(from reading another post, I do realize they may have been closed last week for a Chinese Holiday but if that is the reason for the hang.. then admit it!) -
You need to call the credit card department directly to begin to try to iron out this problem. On line chats will only get you 2 to 4 more weeks of delays and run arounds.
-
Well I spoke to the billing department and said it is not on a credit hold. Just that it is being escalated (the person said it may be in configuration). I guess I will need to be patient... I ordered on the 1st and the ship date still says the 15th. It just spooked me when they use the terms "hang" and "escalation". I saw the money "leave" my account and then go back into the account.
-
If it is not on credit hold, all you can really do is cross your fingers and hope for the best. There has been a shortage of 9 cell batteries in the past. If you ordered a Quadro 570 GPU crossing your fingers probably wont do you any good.
-
I had a similar im conversation with a customer service rep this morning. I ordered a t400 and last week checked on the ship date only to be told it was moved from 10/14 to 10/20 and that I should check again today. When I asked the lenovo rep they said similarly that there was a 'Hang' whatever the hell that is, and that they couldn't give me any more information on what was wrong, when it would be fixed, or when it would be shipped. When I asked for a phone number or email address for somebody on the Highest Executive Team that lenovo had working on the problem they told me there wasn't any way for me to contact them. Pretty shoddy customer service if you ask me...
-
Well I did order the 9 cell battery....
How is the progress on Lenovo orders?
