Check the sticky. I personally don't think it too bad.

Heh. I find it funny that this thread was created since I spent yesterday cleaning my T61 of dust. It was easy to disassemble if you follow the videos. I even took out the main structure so I could tighten the AC connector. My two advice is to avoid static electricity and remember where all the screws go. Write them down or something.

Oh, and after 1.5 years of active use, there was surprisingly little dust. If I had known, I wouldn't have spend the time to clean it. Lack of dust must've be from all the mobile usage.

Just put the aspirator to blow in for 1 min at the air exit and entrance, and you will be amazed how much dust it will blow out
    I do so periodically.

I think he means a can of compressed air. Just be careful not to shoot any inadvertant liquid that sometimes come from those.

I meant the "vacuum cleaner". It is not dangerous at all, because you suck the air and don't push the air inside the laptop, and of course it should be a simple air vacuum cleaner and NOT a liquid one!
I hope I made myself cleat now.

careful, I used screw air compressor to clean my laptop, it blows my fan into little pieces ... the air pressure was too high .. but I get a new fan :)

Yeah. I would be careful doing that. The blast of air can break the fan (as hitman_36 mentioned) or make it spin faster than design spec and damage it.

I didin't say to use a compressor under high pressure, of course it might damage the fan due to hight pressure. I said a simple, home, vacuum cleaner!
Usually these cleaners have power control and you can start with the lowest mode (during 1 min max). Several years I make this procedure and nothing happened.
You can be amazed what may come out of your laptop and the thermal results you might have.
