Ordered my T420 like on the third. I ordered it without a webcam. Starting to regret that sort of. Can I call them and ask them to add it on or is it too late? It still says in processing and it has yet to ship.

Try calling to cancel the order. You'll have to wait a bit longer once you order the new config, but other than that if you can cancel the order than it's just as good as modifying it.

BTW did you get the HD or HD+ screen? If you didn't get the upgrade I'd recommend getting the 1600x900 upgrade as well if you cancel and re-order. The extra screen space is really nice to have and it makes a big difference.

it's faster to cancel the order and re-order because a modification takes 48 hours to process while a new order will go through within 24 hours

yep i got the HD+ screen. And I am using this for engineering in college is the webcam really necessary. I was thinking a video chat might be nice or something with my friends across states.

"Orders for Configure to Order PCs usually cannot be canceled because the building process begins shortly after the order is placed. Orders for products that are listed as "In Stock" (including accessories, monitors, printers and pre-configured PCs) cannot be canceled after the order is "

    wouldnt mine fall under that?

Doesn't hurt to try. Give them a call and see what they can do rather than debating on what to do by yourself. Usually they're more forgiving if you're modifying to add options ;)

Hopefully. Also that free ram and hard drive memory ended the 4th i think. I wouldnt get that if I had to reorder which I am not willing to give up. Hopefully they can just add on the webcam. I will also ask for the Intel wireless adapter. Me being an idiot, I asked for the standard thinkpad b/g/n :/

Is the Thinkpad b/g/n noticeably worse than the Intel wireless?

It's definitely not as good as the intel upgrades that offers dual stream.

The standard b/g/n uses a Realtek chipset that is not as capable. Driver support is not quite at the level that Intel chipsets have as well; that's on Realtek really, not Lenovo.

We have some Realtek-based cards at work. I have not had good luck with them, their range is mediocre, and performance is not as good on an encrypted network --though the Lenovo chipsets are newer, and should be better.
