Few things frustrate me more than spending an hour on the phone on hold only to talk to a customer service tech with limited English skills. What is the Thinkpad service rep?

Well I'll tell you, when I first got my laptop one stick of memory was bad (I didn't know that exactly, it took a day or two of me testing to narrow it down) however getting it serviced took awhile, especially since I first called within an hour (when the problem presented itself) into receiving my laptop. It yet had been registered in their system, since I had barely gotten the system and having had the opportunity to do so, so that was fun and not knowing the exact problem they had to do the standard troubleshooting deal. Oh and this was the weekend + News Years so that didn't help anything.

However, I literally just got off of spending 15 minutes on the phone with a guy in the Atlanta call center because my Ultrabay battery is now down to 64% of its charge and I have a new one coming in without a hassle. It actually only took that long because his computer couldn't pull up the FRU# of the battery from my order, which understandably happens from time to time, but he just asked me for it and its in stock and it ships out in 1-2days. So, I'd say I'm pretty happy with the service despite some transitory hiccups.

I only usually call for a part failure, but have always found them to be friendly and competent. Service as noted is based in Atlanta, Georgia so hopefully English would be the primary language.

very much happy with their service and support.

i'm living here in the Philippines. first time i called them, the language was TAGALOG (or Filipino). the second time i called them, an english-speaking chinese girl spoke to me :p anyway, their english was good enough for me to understand, not that fast and not that slow for me to fall asleep on the phone.
