I ordered my T61p on Wed 02/05, and it was shipped today.

You think I will recieve by Thursday? I don't really know what Express means for UPS, could be weeks.

UPS is good about getting it to you in the AM - pretty good bet you'll get it before 10:30. You have to sign for it so it'll be delayed another day if you're not home.

It really depends on your UPS/FedEX driver, on my street they actually take the time to drop it off at your doorstep and ensure that you sign for the package.

Somewhere on the UPS tracking page it should give you an estimated delivery date. My Thinkpad shipped yesterday (11Feb) from Shenzhen and is scheduled to arrive here in Chicago on 19Feb (via Hong Kong... Incheon... and God-knows-where). It too says USP Express (4-day).

    UPS Express = 1-2 days
    UPS Expedited = 4 days

    plus any customs delays

You didn't get the free 2 day shipping?

Apparently not... free shipping but not 2-day. LaptopGuru is correct--my shipment email says "expedited" not express. \_Q_/

I did order through the Education Employees portal (something like an additional 5% off the then-current sale price) so that may make a difference. And additionally I paid via PayPal, so the price was good.

[addition] And of course mine was a CTO unit so that probably means it wasn't waiting in a distribution center here in the states.

Ground/standard translates into expedited. Upgraded shipping ends up being express. There isn't a ground route from AP to the USA, so expedited is the next cheapest option -- still decently fast unless you are impatient like I am :)

When I recently bought my z61t, I used the free "ground shipping". The laptop was manufactured 1/16/08 and it was on my front step o 1/18/08 by 10AM and I don't live in a major market.

Well, mine shipped out this morning according to the status online. If it's really 2 day shipping, it should be here Friday morning and I'm going to have to take an extended lunch break :)

I did the Express Shipping from UPS. It is supposed to be 2 days. UPS was really good. My T61 was shipped on 2/10 and UPS came to my door with it on 2/12(Even in the East coast storm going on right now).
