I read here somewhere that it is possible to do a parts lookup for your CTO laptop after it has been shipped. How do I go about doing that?

Here you go, from the Sticky:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/s...=/partslookup/partsLookup.vm&sitestyle=lenovo
Use the numbers in the email you received. -
To find which screen you have or are getting type your computer type and serial #s in here http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/si...testyle=lenovo this will give you a list of the parts used to make your individual ThinkPad next to the parts are the FRU#. So find the FRU# for your screen and look it up here http://64.233.167.104/search?q=cache...lnk&cd=6&gl=us you should find a FRU that corresponds with the on you found and presto!

Looks like I got the new Sumsong LCD! -
cool, thanks everyone. I just got the shipping notice today and it seems they may not have updated my part on the website yet as I cannot find it using the method above. Maybe in the next couple of days I'll be able to look it up.
I'm getting a X61. Are there different screens for this laptop? Which is the supposedly better screen?
Also, I shipped with Standard UPS, how long does this usually take? -

How do you look up the parts for a laptop that just shipped?
