I ordered LED Backlit on my T400 but i'm just wondering how do confirm that it is LED backlit?

WXGA (1280x800)- CCFL Backlight
WXGA+ (1440x900)- CCFL Backlight
WXGA+ (1440x900)- LED Backlight
First, check the packing slip or invoice to confirm that it shows the LED display. The next step would probably be to confirm that your display resolution is 1440x900 (not 1280x800). That still doesn't definitively prove it's an LED, but I don't know if there's a way to visually confirm CCFL vs. LED backlighting.
I have an LED display on my DELL Studio 15, but it was much simpler to confirm. There are three displays available-
WXGA (1280x800)- CCFL Backlight
WXGA+ (1440x900)- LED Backlight
WUXGA (1920x1200)- CCFL Backlight
All I had to do was confirm that mine has a native resolution of 1440x900 and that was proof. -
Download PC Wizard 2008 and look at the manufacturer and model type of your screen. Google for more info and/or post the info here and compare it to other T400 owners.

or the other way to check is to use the laptop for about and then check your eyes in a mirror... if they are bleeding, its an led.

that makes me feel good since i decided to stick with the T500 when it first came out and not fall for that led on the T400.

Is it bright? I mean really bright? Than it's LED.

The shipping materials say that it's an LED backlight, but it doesn't seem inordinately bright at top brightness to me.

i actually am wondering the same thing, the LED doesnt seem as bright as everyone says and also the colors arnt very vibrant and colorful... my firend said its because of the antiglare finish.

I've heard other ThinkPad users with very similar complaints. I suppose the same is true of the LED displays.
I notice a substantial difference in brightness and in how vibrant colors look on my LED, but it's a Dell Studio 15. I'd be interested to see how the LED displays with anti-glare coating look on some of Dell's business models, too.
Even if an LED display doesn't look so bright on a ThinkPad, at least it's a bit lighter and uses less battery....and Lenovo doesn't charge as much for the upgrade as Dell or HP, on most models. -
How do you know if you have LED Backlit or not?
