This may sound like a dumb question, but when I try and stick an SD card into the slot it just keeps going in. It doesn't get mounted and I needed pliers to get it out.

So does it go in right-side up or up-side down? And how far in should it go? I mean I need to be able to get it back out...

As I recall, the label should be facing up. The card should click in. Then if you want to remove, push it in more and it should click out.

Make sure you're actually inserting a regular SD card, and not a MiniSD or MicroSD card that are commonly used with cellular phones nowadays.

Thanks for the tip...the reader was in the "in" position so it made it look like the card was going in too far and I was afraid to stick it in farther. Now at least I have a working card reader. :)
