Hi everyone, this is my first post here, but I have been browsing this Lenovo/IBM forum for a while before I place an order for a T400.
Finally, I received my 7417CTO T400 yesterday after two long weeks of waiting (ordered on Sep 29, received on Oct 13).
I originally plan on ordering the 1280x800 WXGA because I have always find text being too small on a 13.3 (1280x800). However, after browsing this forum for a while and hearing all the greatness about the LED backlight panel. I bite the bullet and ordered the WXGA+ LED screen (and continue to suffer from small text size).
Right after opening the box, I immediately downloaded PC-Wizard and see that I have a "LP141WP2-TLB1" panel. Therefore, a LG screen! Great!
However, very soon, I start realizing the "Dimness" of this so-called LED backlight panel. I have to kept the brightness settings @ 13/15 (approx 86%) to be bright enough to use at my normal working desk.
To give you an idea of how much brightness I need, I have always used my 2-year-old Sony SZ laptop (LED backlight) @ 60% brightness at the exact same location.
I have also connected the T400 to a Dell 24" 2407fpw-HC monitor via VGA and the 24 monitor (brightness @ lowest 0% settings) is just as bright as the T400 screen (@ 86%).
Therefore, I am having my doubt in whether my T400 is really equipped with a LED backlight panel due to its relative dimness.
Is there any way to tell if my T400 has a LED backlight panel without disassembling the computer?
Thanks!

I am not aware of any other way to verify LED backlighting. But the part no. you listed here is surely for LG LED backlit screen. Maybe you need to call tech support and tell them about this issue.

led screens load up instantly, ccfl need about 0.5-1s to "warm up"
How do I tell my T400 has the LED screen?
