I recently bought a thinkpad x200. But I was wondering if I get a LED screen or one with CCFL. I couldn't find anything at all on the official lenovo website.
My screen has the ultraconnect logo at top, integrated camera and has a resolution of 1280x800. I believe it also has a microphone because I see 2 slits. I also see 3 circles at the bottom of the screen. 2 of them are all the way to the left and right.
Is there a way to tell if its a led screen or ccfl based on this information?

did you try the tabook?

plug your machine type and serial number into this page: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/PART-LOOKUP.html
locate the FRU number for your display.
search for the FRU on this page: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-70520.html -
Tabook didn't have my model. It did have my model number though. But I saw totally different configurations at that model number.
I'll take a look at the ibm site tomorrow. The links arent working now. Otherwise I'll just weigh my laptop and compare the weight with the ones in tabook.
Oh god I really hope I don't have led screen. But everything indicates that I do. Even tabook. -

It matters because of the potential of upgrading to a better screen that is easier done from what I have read with a CCFL.

If it takes a few seconds to reach its full brightness after it was off it's probably a CCFL (don't have access to an LED to check though..).

with all due respect, you've completely misinterpreted what you've read and are agonizing over a non-issue as a result. there's absolutely nothing wrong with your tablet display. -
The best way to find out without opening up your computer is, like erik said a few posts earlier, to find the FRU of your display in Lenovo's part lookup feature online. -
Download a system info utility, like this one.
Run it, on the Left scroll down to Hardware>Video and click. After it collects your info it will show your LCD's model #. Google it and it will probably tell you your screen type. -
plus, all i've read lately are questions about X200 panels despite a lot of information being available. consider me a bit quick on the trigger in the above quote.
my apologies for the confusion. my sentiment about people unnecessarily agonizing over this stuff still stands though. it is what it is. you either put in the time and money or you move on. it's just that simple. -
Hey, I am not looking for any trouble at all. I just wanted to gather more information about my laptop and then decide if it is worth the money and effort to modify my laptop with an AFFS screen if it had a CCFL.
Thanks to erik I found out that I have a CCFL based screen. My mood seems to swing everytime because I actually had already accept the fact that I thought I would have an LED. Atleast I wouldn't have to spend more money to get another screen, I get all the advantages of LED over CCFL and its matte.
Btw I can't tell the difference between LED and CCFL but I am pretty sure I can tell the differences between AFFS and what I have now. I am pretty sure the screen I have right now is not good if only for the vertical viewing angles and blackness alone. -
