I have tried all the keys.. F8, F12.. None are working. I am pressing them when it says "Press The ThinkVantage" sign on bootup.

Why can't I get in safemode with shortcuts. The only way is to shut down my computer manually so the screen automatically comes up.

what happens if you actually do press the thinkvantage sign?

at any rate, i'm sure you can find the appropriate button in your user's manual.

Safe mode is usually entered by holding down F8 right before the Windows start-up splash screen. You could try to hold down F8 after the Lenovo BIOS start-up screen disappears; that should present you the menu to choose from various Windows boot options.
