I've used the search function with the key word "finger" and "reader" in the title and to my surprise nothing came up.

So how do you disable/enable the Finger Print reader upon Windows XP Startup on a T61p?

I somehow disabled it, I forget how I did it. I remember I read somewhere that you can do it through the BIOS, but I didnt do it that way.

Can someone tell me how to properly enable and disable the finger print reader?

There is probably more than one way to disable it. One way that comes to mind would be to go into the Device Manager (My Computer -> Manage -> Device Manager), expand the "Biometric" device category, and right-click to enable or disable the TouchChip Fingerprint Coprocessor. A better way might be to use the ThinkVantage Fingerprint Software Control Center, under Program Files. I suspect you already checked that one, though.

Or you could uninstall the driver/program, open up the laptop like you would to upgrade ram and unplug it :)
