I am just setting up my new N100 and I seem to have inadvertently configured the password manager, and now I can't stop it. I don't need this level of security (yet), but this thing pops up every time I log in and wants my password again, and I can't disable it. I've tried going to Set Preferences | Advanced and unsetting "Enable Password Manager", but it just sets itself again (even if I unset everything else in Application Support). I've also tried running CSS, going to Advanced | Manage security Policies, setting a custom security policy on Log On To Windows and then editing the custom policy and unticking Protect With A Password - but when I do that the OK button is greyed out!! I've now run out of ideas. I don't want to uninstall CSS as I might want to use it (and I would have no idea how to install it again as no installation disks are provided). This is really irritating and I would appreciate hearing from anyone who knows how to disable it.

When it asks you to save a password, just answer "Never" for each site, and it will stop.

It is actually QUITE good...you should try to use it....

Make sure you are using version 8 or higher

It doesn't ask me to save a password, it just asks me to enter a password - quite superfluously it would seem as it is long after I've logged into Windows. (I currently just hit cancel when it pops up, with no apparent ill effects, so it can't be that indispensible!)
As far as I can tell I have V7 of CSS and version 2 of password manager. I have spent all day installing and updating software that I need and I really don't feel like spending time updating the great mounds of software that I have been given that I don't need and don't want (like Google desktop!!). All I want to do is turn them off.
OK rant over. It may indeed be quite good, and if someone could tell me what it actually does and why I would want it, then when I get time I will consider it. Until then, please can you tell me how to STOP IT (and google desktop, and Norton Security, and OmniPass, whatever that is, and something called Message Centre . . .).
