Ok, so I am trying to save a few penny by choosing SUSE Linus or no OS at all if Lenovo allow.... But how do I choose these option during configuration?? Btw, I am ordering it from Canadian Lenovo website.

All I get are Vista options and the cheapest OS I can get is the home edition...

My plan is to install Vista Business 64bit myself as company has it for employee.

If anyone can shine some light on me, that would be appreciated!

From this screen where it shows the feature comparison of T61 and T61p (or the equivalent screen for R61), if you click the link that says "Linux preload models"... Ok, I see that that doesn't work for the Canada site.

From the U.S. site, when I did that, I got this screen allowing me to choose among the Linux models: http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/...ndingPage=/All/US/Landing_pages/Info/08/Linux

And now I'm really confused because it says Canada at the top of that page even though I thought I had switched back to the US site. (If you look at the web address, it says en_CA in one part but US in another part...)

    Ok,

    Good Luck!

I tried to get a Dell laptop with no Windows and they put me through the loop. Like you I already have licenses for my products so there is no point in my paying twice or three times for Windows.

One guy on here a while back did it, but I think he had to call and talk to customer service. Also, I think he was in Europe.

    I agree with you Otter.
The only cancellation for me even though I don't like/use Vista is that whenever I am ready to sell my laptop it's a lot easier with M$ OS on it (and I think I get my $ back by getting a higher price).

Just call Lenovo Canada to confirm that SUSE Linux is not available for Thinkpad yet... They say probably end of March...

I am a little concern in regard to there Lenovo's customer service, after the short chat on the phone with one of there representatives, I felt the language used and attitude we somewhat disappointing~ I had work with HP before, they are much more welling to answer any of your concerns!
