My t61 broke and I ordered a new one. The new one is a WXGA+ while my old one was WXGA. My question is: Can I transfer the webcam on my old computer's bezel to the new one? Any instructions? I saw that one guy talked about it here, but he didn't say how he did it.

YOu would have to cut in a space on your monitor for your webcam or use your old monitor.

If its the same laptop just get the driver from your old one.

Yeah, or he could just use the old bezel + new LCD panel. What a thought.

Go on Lenovo's website and get the service manual. Follow their service manual on disassembly, mix and match parts, it will work fine.

One question: Is the webcam connected to the motherboard?

OK. I'm having trouble. I took apart my old computer. How will I then install the camera in the new one? Will the ribbon be the same?

Yes and I believe the webcam connects to the screen which connects to the motherboard.

Compare the two motherboard side by side and you should see it.

It connects to the ribbon. Will the ribbon be the same for the new computer, the one without the integrated webcam?

You will likely have to move the webcam cable over.
