I just got 8GB (2x4GB) of G.Skill RAM and am wondering what is the best way to test it out with Memtest+? A single stick at a time or both sticks together?

    Thanks

run both .. if it passes then you're good; if it finds errors, then test one by on to see which one contains the errors

but then, if you send it back they'll probably ask you to send both modules since you probably got them as pair, lol

    T61

Memory available at Newegg (not allowed to post URL's yet) search for item number N82E16820231210
Note that this is $30 less than I paid last week! I always seem to buy right before a price drop :(

Ah...DDR2...I will have to wait for DDR3 for the T400.

    $300...prices are a dropping...I'll bite for DDR3 when it hits $200.

Technically, or just not produced yet?

I guess I could always break down and go back to DDR2 if 8GB was cheap enough. ;-)

    Hmmm...so $1280 for DDR3 or $300 for DDR2. For 8GB.

    I have a hard time seeing DDR3 as 200% better than DDR2.

It will drop 50% by next year.

    of course, it isn't.
and so far crucial is the only vendor I've found offering 4gb ddr3 sticks
