    How can I tell it shipped?

    Sorry for the dumb question, but I am excited to finally get my w500.

    Does lenovo email a message saying that it left the warehouse?
    I.E a tracking number?
    If I did 2 day shipping would I have it before i ever get the email?

    Tough to say. When I ordered some accessories earlier I did get a "your order has shipped" email. With my T400 order, I did not -- I noticed on the Order Status page that its status had changed to Shipped and a link to the UPS tracking appeared.

    Someone on a different thread said he didn't even get an email, and his T400 arrived less than a week later on his doorstep (incredibly lucky fellow).

    Yeah. Some people get the email some don't and the same goes for the account. For some people, the account shows "In Process" for the order forever and for others it shows "Shipped". For my 2 orders I got an email saying shipped and my order was marked as "Shipped". When my order was marked as shipped there was a link in my account to UPS's tracking page and I could tell where my machine was. I would take a look at your account and your order and look for this link if they mark it as shipped.

    I ordered a T61 in February, and I didn't receive an email when it shipped. I just happened to check the order status page and see that it had changed to "shipped."

    I just ordered a T400, and now I'm obsessively checking the order status page...

    I just ordered on Oct 8. I noticed a checkbox to get status updates via email. But, only 2 days later and no updates. So, maybe if you didn't check the box you won't get email notices.

    I will post my experiences since I specifically chose to receive email updates.

    So, I ordered on 10/8/ Just got an email (2 emails actually), the all or part of my order shipped. My order included the T400, an extra 65W AC cord and a Bluetooth Mouse. So, I am not sure if everything has shipped, but it sounds like at least 2 different shipments.

    So, I did get email notice. And my Status has changed.

    Some people get the emails and some don't. Some have the status change and some don't. Don't know why. Thats a lot of don'ts :p

    Don't say it... just don't (2 more don'ts). I dunno..., or don't know, mine updated and emailed.

    Course, I mentioned elsewhere, no one was home today when UPS tried to deliver. The wife says the section where you can call and go pick up was crossed out and they will try again before 10:30 tomorrow morning.
