Hi, everyone, I just received my T400 and reinstalled the system, but I found that there is a icon in the task bar, and I think vista consider my DVD-ROM as a removable device, how can I remove this icon?

Isn't it removable? Removable hardware shows up there.

That doesn't really get rid of the icon, it just hides it, but readily accessible with a single click. Why don't you recommend this?

Nevermind. I wasn't thinking straight. My brain was thinking it hid it completely as in takes the icon away from view totally (like hiding an annoyance you never want to see again).... but shame on me for not thinking ahead. I obviously don't recommend hiding the icon because you should stop devices before unplugging... but leaving it set to "hide" wont hurt a darn thing. plsdonotbug is right.... click the arrow and voila, you'll see it again momentarily.
