I'm trying to replace my motherboard on my W520. However I'd like to make sure I get what I want.

From what I heard the motherboard shipped with dual core process will only support 2 memories while the one shipped with quad core process will support 4 memories. So I checked the FRU list in Thinkpad W520 Hardware Maintenance Manual and the model list in ltwbook.pdf.

I noticed for example 4276-4GU is a quad core model and 04W2033 can be found in 4276-4Gx. Does that mean ANY 04W2033 will support 4 memories? Thanks.
