I've heard some people are able to get a discount by calling up the sales rep. how can you do that? What do you say to them? Does everyone qualify?

What I would recommend you is instead of building your system on-line, look at already pre-configured systems through IBM Think Express program models for Small and Medium Business:
    http://www-132.ibm.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?categoryId=2585864&storeId=1&catalogId=-840&langId=-1

There, you save about $400-$500 on a package. That's where I ordered my laptop. I'm just not sure how it works for others, since I do work for a telecomm company and was buying this laptop for my own personal use. Also, keep it mind, since IBM is located in every state, so you will have to pay a tax on your order :(

Thats what I am doing. I've customized an Express model of my choice and I was hoping to get some additional discount on it.
