Hi
I am new here
I am planning to buy one of the lenovo's thinkpad, my budget is still not fixed but around 1500 dollars.
I am working and living here in calgary. I visisted most of the shops here (best buys, and future shops) and
it seems that they all dont have the lenovo (they have Dell, toshiba and HP)
I check the website and they have lenovo.ca. Is it good buying online, I worry about technical support if ever I buy online here in calgary.
somebody help me. I use my laptop in travelling, some gaming but not much. and websurfing. I plan to install autocad in this computer also.

Hello, fellow Canadian.
I'm from Vancouver and have purchased a few notebooks from Lenovo using Visaperks and the EPP Program. No problems. Everything is a phone call away and if you are worried about service, you can choose to have next day on site service as one of your warranty options....even in Calgary. I don't think any stores in Calgary will have any Thinkpads out on display.
You can get a discount through Visaperks. www.visaperks.ca
http://www.visaperks.ca/visaperks/o...h=10824&clear=y&CFID=9337212&CFTOKEN=69999456
Once you have reached the Lenovo.ca site through Visaperks, they have some additional discount coupons located on the right hand side of the page.
coupon 1:

As for service do not worry about it at all. It is most likely better far better than anything you would get from a futureshop/bestbuy. Last year I ordered a T61 when they first came out, and unfortuneatly I had several problems, so needless to say many conversations with lenovo. It never took more than a couple of minutes to talk to a rep, replacements always got to me within a week.
Ultimately when it came to getting a refund, I left my name, and their supervisor phoned me within the next 24 hours and lined up a full refund for me. For me it was the excellent service that I got, that I am giving thinkpads another chance and just ordered another T61.
Also ordering online you will be able to customize the system a lot more to your liking that buying in a store. Only thing is ordering from lenovo canada it seems to be taking about a month to get your computer. If you are in a rush that could be a considerable factor. Either way good luck. -
Yeah, shipping time is a bit of a pain, but surprisigly, my T61 arrived in 15 days after ordering.
