this is a pretty old Thread... but since there is so much interest in this... i will do another one this weekend.
I have to plan it. As the laptop at the bottom will have to take around 80 kg of weight...

No ThinkPad burger for me...I don't have one I hate particularly to be the bottom ThinkPad unless I got a broken R61 or something.
-
oh i see you got the X201 and sold or swapped the T410s.
The bottom of the rack would be the T500 with the magnesium rollcage for the screen and the chassis. -
Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
T500 over like a thick/bulky R500/R400/R61? O__O -
X200t? Whoa you are trading down. No point getting the x200t now. I would think you should get a x220t when you can afford it.
-
Looking forward to see your current burger, it seem like you have acquire quite a layers to your burger.

haha good idea, i was thinking that is what i should do. I tried a test run today... and my T500 didn't like having 20 machines on top of it. Or 30 or odd machines is really pushing it.

Have you ever estimated the value of the collection? Seems like prudent selling would fund future toys.

Well then, I'm going to have to round up the Fleet and get some photos taken.
-
You spend over 9000 on your Thinkpad. Over 9000.

Love the Apple keyboard on the right, never thought you use a apple keyboard. You seem to be the person who have a Thinkpad keyboard or an old IBM space-saver II.

Wow someone trying to catch up to lead_org..

That'll be the day.

i dont think it is that hard to beat me, you just need to live on nothing for the next few years, or go through computer wholesaler for end of lease machines (the latter is more plausible).

Anyway, why do you even have that many X61 laptops? That just seems crazy (assuming having a Thinkpad burger isn't already crazy ). -
I bought the top X61 for school, while i looked for one with an SXGA+ screen. so i found one but the digitizer didn't work (i think that's the 3rd in the pile). more recently i found another one which i'm using now, and the other one was cheap and missing parts so i added whatever was missing and am selling it. -
Nothing has changed on my end since October of last year. The T61 still remains as my daily computer, while the X301 hardly EVER gets used. I'm seriously considering selling it
-
maybe you should sell it while there is still a demand for it.
Maybe you could consider upgrading to a better system in the future. -
I defiantly plan on getting another computer (one to use as my primary machine) ASAP. I played with a 27" iMac at the Apple store today, and just about fell in love
I have no idea what the market value is on the X301. Mine is VERY lightly used, but it also only has a 64GB SSD, so I have no idea where to start. -
Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
X301 range depending on specs/warranty status. Some have warranty til like 2013, and those are 1000+. 600-1000 is most X301.
-
I got a mint condition X301 with a dead motherboard and no hdd with 3 types of batteries for 400 AUD and i think it is a fantastic deal. While i have another X301 that is used heavily for 570 AUD. on average a X301 is around 700 to 900 dollars for a second hand machine. But you got to sell it to an enthusiast to maxmise its intrinsic value.
-
Those machines are just aching for Linux...
-
A. I bought it brand new, and
B. I know that Lenovo will probably never have another laptop like the X300/X301 for a LONG time, so keeping it (and knowing that I'm the original owner) I guess has sort of a sentimental value to it -
Well if you dont need the money then just keep it. You would have lost around 60% of value anyway.
-
Just two:
T420s - 160GB SSD
T61 - 100GB 7200 rpm
Did use a T41 and T23 while working (am retired now) -
also just have two:
SL400
X220
However, my family has had probably over 10. (Dad's worked for IBM for 35 years). -
Only a 1.2" burger, my W520. Looking forward to adding a more portable machine in a few years (maybe a X250 or X150?)
-
lol, I just saw that thread.
There are four T61s next to me, as I sent two others away about 3 months ago, but besides my beloved one the other three I plan on selling when I load bunch of stuff on those -
I've got only R61...
-
I only have one Thinkpad as well. :/ -
Paired things down to two ThinkPads: my T61 and my newly-acquired T420.
