I wanted to get a T61 or X61, but just noticed that the 9 cell and 8 cell battery options for each (respectively) are now gone...if I were to buy one of these laptops now, how bad would the battery life be with the following configurations?

    T61 14.1" Widescreen: T8300, 2 GB RAM, 160GB 7.2K HDD, NVS 140M, WSXGA+ screen, 6 cell battery

    X61: T8300, 2 GB RAM, 160GB 7.2K HDD, X3100, XGA screen, 4 cell "enhanced capacity" battery

X61s: 1.8 GHz LV, LED screen, other options same as above X61.

    Thanks

I have an x61 w/an 8-cell battery and I get 7.5 hrs of battery life with normal use. So a 4-cell would be 3.75 hrs. Hope that helps.

Hmmm only 3.75...I really would like 5 hours or more. So it's looking like I need to either wait indefinitely for Lenovo to get new shipments of batteries after the fire or get another brand of ultraportable...

I think the x61s bumps up the battery life a bit more... somewhere close to 4.5hrs... but definitely not 5hrs.

I just purchased a new X61 with the 8 cell battery and hate it. Run time is excellent, but I hate that it sticks out the back. I'm not too concerned with batttery life as I'm plugged in almost all the time. 3 hours would be fine with me. If you get the X61 with the 4 cell, I would gladly trade with you even up. My battery has 4 charge cycles on it.

That would be great! I'm seriously considering the purchase of an X61 very soon...so I'll be sure to let you know!
