I ordered an Ideapad Y460p yesterday. Lenovo quoted a processing time of 5 business days, which puts the estimated shipping date at March 30. For those who have ordered from Lenovo directly in the past, is the company pretty good about meeting that target? I only ask because I'm having to borrow my wife's laptop for now, and she's none to keen on that.

My T420 wasn't supposed to even ship from the factory until 3/31, it is already shipped and UPS tracking says it will be here by next Tuesday.

Really depends, sometimes they may delay it if they run out of parts.

However, in my experience, they were spot on. I bought a w510 on 3/13 to replace my t61 which died recently and the estimated shipping was today. It arrived today =). Just be aware that it will have to go through customs which will take a long time (mine took 3 days).

In my recent purchases both arrived considerably faster than the estimated time stated of arrival when I ordered them.

My first one for my friend's T410 was accurate. I couldn't trace back though, not sure if it was updated after the machine was invoiced.

However for my X120e it's horrendous. I've called in multiple times, given various different shipping dates (plus various reasons for the change, and recently they stopped doing that), yet the shipping estimate on my Account remained the same.

I just received a shipment notification e-mail.

Hopefully it won't take too long to get here. From what I've read (and correct me if I'm mistaken), Lenovo operates similarly to Apple in that when you order a system online, it will ship from China rather than a warehouse in the US. No big deal, really. I'm just really excited to get it. :D

Some are lucky others are not. I was extremely unlucky when I ordered my t400 as it got stuck in customs twice. Still shipped faster then they quoted me though.

Depends, really. For both my T500 and my X120e, the laptop ended up shipping well before the estimated build completion date.

Even though my t400 took the full time period for processing and building and the stuck in customs twice issue they still got it before the generous (on their part) ship date. So while I was frustrated I couldnt get mad. :p

Oh, definitely. It's always great when a flight that will allegedly take an hour and ten minutes manages to land in a bit short of an hour :p

I ordered a y460p on 3/13/11, it shipped 3/21/11 (estimate date was 3/28/11) , and woulda been delivered today if I was home, I'll be picking it up in the morning.
