Hello. I received my X230 last week and I really loved it right out of the box (a miniature copy of my T520 ). However, as soon as I powered it on, I noticed a cluster of stuck/bright pixels (white on black background). I sent it back for a refund and ordered a replacement.
I am wondering how common defective pixels are in the IPS screen. Was I just unlucky to get one with stuck pixels or are they a common occurrence? Did your have a dead/stuck pixel?
Thanks.

BTW, I recommend you consider an mSATA SSD and keep the HDD or replace the HDD to save money. -
Sad to hear this. If this happens to me I'll honestly be insanely mad. First the fail to cancel my order even though I called them immediately (first hour they opened) and then if there are any defects it will just push me over the top.
When they ask you to return the old one, do you ship it to a facility they have in the states or back to China or wherever they're located? -
I only have one stuck pixel on my X230t.
United States. -
Mine didn't have any dead pixels, sorry to hear that.

No dead or stuck pixels in my X230. Got it last week...

I was worried about that as well. Fortunately mine has no dead pixels as far as I can tell. Sorry to hear your's was so bad. ;P

my X220 from two month ago has no dead pixels.

My X230(ips) has partially green/white stuck pixel on the screen. On black wallpaper sometimes its white or black. If I open My computer or Firefox, pixel changes color to green. Can't send it back, because I have owned it over a month and Lenovo warranty requires 5 or more defective pixels. When I have more money, I will buy new panel.

I don't know about Finland, but here in the US, three or more dead pixels on a ThinkPad qualifies you for a screen replacement.

And you are right. It is 3 dead pixels. I remembered it was 5.

I've never even seen a stuck or dead pixel, fortunately, and I had to google what such a thing looks like. But if I ever ran into a stuck pixel I'd probably try something like this:
5 Ways To Fix A Stuck Pixel On Your Screen
That stuff is from back in 2008 and for Win XP, but there might be some useful things there or at least an idea of what to do. If you have a dead pixel, well good luck to you. -
No stuck pixels on my x230t laptop...last laptop I had developed a whole cluster of pixels about two years in and frankly I didn't notice it much, though about a year later the pixel cluster began to grow until it drove me nuts.

No dead/stuck pixels on my Tablet version either. I'd think it would be a lot more annoying if it were in the middle of the screen. I had computers with a single stuck pixel near the edge and I ended up being okay with it after a short period of annoyance.

Thanks for the responses. The stuck pixels on mine were close to the center of the screen and I wouldn't be able to tolerate them (they popped on any dark background ).
I hope the replacement, which is arriving on Wednesday, won't have any problems. Keeping my fingers crossed. -

There is a tendency of some X220 panels to develop white blotches, they look like pressure spots but aren't: http://forum.notebookreview.com/lenovo-ibm/579414-bright-pressure-spot-x220-lcd.html and http://forum.notebookreview.com/lenovo-ibm/645382-lenovo-x220-screen-upgrade-2.html#post8316649
