I thought I was purchasing a pretty hot setup. New T61 with 7500 Chip set running xp will all updates installed, 7200 rpm 100Gb HD, 2G Ram, and the thing seems to freeze on battery power all the time. Only way to unfreeze it is to turn it off. I sent it back to IBM once already and they did a clean install which they claim would fix the problem. It didn't. This is a brand new computer. Any one else having this problem? Any ideas on how to fix it? Hurry, I'm starting to turn cold...Burrrrr.

eyecon,
can you elaborate? what is the implication if he has turbomemory?
Thanks,

Turbo Memory is an option on the T61

from what i have gathered it causes more problems then benefits. -
I'm asking because if he does, that is probably the cause since it causes many problems once a user is on battery power. He would need to disable the hybrid disc saving in power management to stop the freezes while on battery
