    are there any alternatives to the hitachi hard drive?

    looking to upgrade my x220 to 500 gb and the hitachi doesn't get good reviews.

    I think the 7K750 is a full 9.5mm drive... Could be wrong.

    X220 upgrade to 500gb hard drive? - Lenovo Community

    i read this thread which has a link to a review that scared me away from buying

    seagate made some that were the correct dimensions but didn't go up to 500 gb, just 320. maybe some 500s are around the corner somewhere

    I can say I've been happy with my 500GB Z5K500. If it's just for storage, I think it'll be fine.
