Hey guys, I've been listening to some lectures and I've noticed I get this annoying hissing sound from my headphones. As I listen through the recording, I pause it sometimes to write down some notes, and I hear the hissing. So I played the recording again at low volume to see if the hissing is still there and it is. When I press the mute button on the keyboard then the hissing goes away. Anyone have a solution for this?

It's the same for me, and I'm guessing all of us. If Lenovo knows about this, I wish they would fix it. :/

Sounds like normal amplified analog line noise to me. My bet is that when you press mute that the driver tells the HDA chipset to kill power to the port.

Might be static buildup. I can make it happen on demand and make it go away by touching the rollcage through the [empty] Ultrabay to ground it.

Possibly, but it's likely just line noise from the card's lines themselves.

Welcome to the fun world of analog audio. Shielding is hard, and cheap DACs suck. :/
