This may be a silly question but please bear with me..

So I've had a 4th gen thinkpad x1 carbon (non-yoga) for about 10 months now, recently I started wondering if the hinge of the laptop could somehow be "modded" to make rotate past 180 and possibly all the way to 360 degrees. This may not seem too useful at first since the laptop does not have a touch screen, but as for watching movies and such on the laptop this may be a useful feature to have..

Does anyone know if anyone has tried this with their thinkpads? I'm not sure if I would ever have the guts to try this on my laptop (I would also have no idea how) but I am very curious if this would be possible.

@thinktechthink it may theoretically be possible (though hard to tell without having the machine at hand) if you replace the hinges, but there are other issues to address e.g. awkward feel of keyboard and the need to disable it every time you convert it to tablet. You'll definitely be better served by selling your X1 Carbon and getting a Thinkpad with Yoga-style hinges, e.g. X1 Yoga or 370.
