    Hope all is well!

Im still using my T500, but the old man maybe giving up on me! He says, (beep! beep! beep!) (beep! beep! beep!) (beep! beep! beep!) etc.

For me the sounds vanish after initial boot up logo...then all is well and running. Only on boot ups this happens...intermittently too.

I've managed to trigger the beep continuously whilst poking around in the bios..but when exiting and restarting boot...it silences.

So what now? Time to jump ship to my t420???

My SSD is 85% full. Don't know if that is anything to do with it.

I like my T500, I hope the feelings are mutual.

    Thanks for reading!

ok i just seen something interesting,, the beeping didnt stop at boot up...at the same time there was a continuous green light flashing at the 2nd harddrive bay! I noticed that the hardrive wasnt showing up on 'my computer' so i removed it and slotted it back in...and that stopped the beeping and it also showed up working. hmmm

So does anyone know anything more about the flashing error and beeps? Is my 2nd hdd failing? Its only used for storage.. my main boot up is SSD.

    Thanks

What happens if you re-insert the drive in the UltraBay while the machine is off, then turn it on again?

i have had this issue on my new (well relatively speaking) ThinkPad T61p last week. I managed to fix the issue by removing the cmos battery for about 10 minutes, then reinserting them. The problem hasn't came back since. Not sure what triggered the problem.

    (Problem solved i think)
    Hi Guys!
Yeah i think i have come to the assumption that its not serious...

Just happened again this morning booting up...so i looked at the ultra bay 'blue light'...and there it was flashing in sync with the beep (not 80% certain about the sync) So i took a guess and just gave the ultra bay caddy little push to make sure it wasn't a loose connection...and voila! Beeps vanished!
So there we have it...possible a worn and torn T500...oh well, it works and thats good enough for me!

Thanks for the help fellas!! Much appreciated!
