I liked your commentary about your setup with the T42...

When you say "flat screen LCD" are you speaking of using the screen on the laptop for viewing at home or a separate screen separate from the T42?

    Thanks for all your tips.

I bought a separate 17" flat panel monitor and hooked it up to the mini-dock. If money is not an issue, I think it's worth it, but you have to invest the extra $100-$200 on the mini dock (depending on if it's on sale) and $200-$400 or more on the monitor. Then add a keyboard, mouse and speakers to complete the desktop. Given the holidays, I was able to get a couple freebies [ :D]

One note - I recommend the mini-dock over the port replicator. I think it's the same device, but the mini-dock comes with the power charger... And I think the charger for the mini-dock is different than the one that comes with the laptop.
