I have a new Lenovo T61. I had to install Windows XP SP2. after installation I am not able to play any sound.

The Sound and Audio devices in the control panel show - No Device
The Audio buttons (physical on the laptop) - do not respond. In my earlier laptop a green bar used to come to indicate the level of sound. In this no green bar nothing.

The windows media player says that there is no sound device installed

However in the device manager I see Sound, Video and Game controller saying the device is working fine and no asterix sign

I have dowloaded drivers from the site and installed them still no success.

    Please advise
