    Please help!

I have just received the notebook, T60p, plugged the battery in,
connected to AC and turned it on.
It beeped once, then after a pause 4 more times, then after another short pause beeped 3 more times.
The screen does not come up.

Any advice? Maybe it needs to be fully charged or ....?
    Thanks,
    Peter

Yes, I'd make sure you charge it for an hour or two first. If you need to, remove the battery for a minute or so then put it back in and try again. Also, if the light is on try holding the power button down for 10 seconds to force it off (rather than removing battery).

If it is plugged in the battery shouldn't matter. If you want to charge it up first, I don't think it would hurt.

I talked tith the tech guy, he had me to fo a full system reset without the battery (AC only). He said perhaps a system board failure.
    I am so pissed!

one short beep, three short beeps, three short beeps, then one short beep is the closest I see to yours. hmm says dimm or board.
