I have an issue with a new x61 Tablet. I ordered it with XP and went to change it a few hours later to Vista and my rep did not get it changed in time and it shipped with XP. I installed Vista ultimate and all is well but security is flakey as it relates to the fingerprint scanner. I have reloaded Client Security Software (CSS) and Resue and Recovery. I have cleared the security chip in the BIOS and it still tells me that it needs a password that I did not set and will not store my passwords on the internet (but it does ask me if I want to store them but never let's me use them. Lenovo is saying they will not help me further because it is an OS issue and I do not have the OS that came with the machine.

Does anyone know how I can resolve this issue on my laptop? I think getting lenovo to change their policy is not going to happen. I just want my security to work!!

Thanks in advance for any help!
    K

I am not sure that I understood the problem described, but just in case here is a tip: If you want your passwords stored and used in Windows XP/Vista, you have to set a password to your login account.

That is, while it is possible to set your account as "passwordless" and login without typing anything, Windows has a security feature that will not let you automatically login to anywhere using stored passwords.
