I am new to this forum and I really appreciate your help (a premature thanks I know...)

I have been reading the forums and seen some concerns over the fact that different parts are put into different machines ordered from Lenovo, and some are cheaper than others. I just ordered my T60 15 inch and I was hoping someone in the know would be willing to scan this list and tell me any potential problems, or maybe tell me of any potential problems and where I could check these numbers. Thanks VERY much. This is a big purchase for me.

    Here it is:

I really appreciate any help at all. This is really a great forum I wish I had found it before I ordered, but it seems like you all confirm much of what I have found about the T60 already...so that is good.

    Thanks again.....

The 15" SXGA+ is a better screen though the lettering is smaller. It looks like you have a combo drive, not a DVDRW. What are you going to with it?

Yeah...I didn't really want to pay to upgrade to the DVDRW. This is primarily for Word processing and the like. I also have a Desktop with all of the necessary stuff. So the CD/RW was enough.

Thanks so much for the feedback. I am a Thinkpad lover...so I am really hoping to be happy with this machine.

    Thanks again!

I noticed you don't have a wireless card. Maybe there's a reason for that, but if not, I'd say it's worth the extra cost (~$30). Depending on your circumstances, connecting to a wireless network can be very convenient sometimes.

I actually do have a wireless card:

At least, I ordered one, and that looks a lot like it. Hopefully that is the case.

Sorry, I must have misread your post. I saw this:
    "42R9190 VBB NO INT.WIFI WL 3RD ANTENNA"
and assumed it meant no wireless. But since you have one, I'd say that configuration looks good. My only suggestion is make sure 60GB is sufficient for your needs. Congratulations on your new Thinkpad!

    Thanks. :)

Yeah, I went with the 60GB HD because of the speed. And the upgrade to a 100GB faster drive was pretty big. So, I will just have to live with less space, but I hope the speed will make a difference.

I am still waiting for it to come....impatiently waiting.

I did the same trade-off on my home Dell. Not a huge deal, especially with external drives so inexpensive now.
