    Help please! New t400 with odd problem... May return, need advice!

    i have read coutless threads on CPU whine, and my noise sounds like this. HOWEVER, 99% of the people with this issue have had it under power saving modes. I only experience this odd noise when my battery is charging, on AC power. If I take the battery out the noise goes away. If I run on battery only I hear nothing. Then I plug in to charge and there is the noise. It is loud enough to make me insane! High pitched intermittent whine sound.

    Does anyone know enough about this to advise me? Its a new montevina platform, p8600, 2gb single dimm. I dont know what to do! Ive had it for a few hours only, and I may return it on chance.

    change the cpu power management or something in bios. the sound won't disappear but keep it down. bad thing lenovo takes 15% to return.

    listen to something else may help you ignore the whine.
