I'm looking to buy a pc for my technician which is using softwares such as Labview for acquisition data and Solid Edge for simple 3d CAD design.
I threfore need :
1) good video card min.128mb
2) min.1gb RAM
3) Good battery life
4) dual core processor
5) max $1500/1600
The perfect unit will be the T60P but is too expensive.
anyway I was looking at the Z61M and R60 both with the same ATI X 1400 128MB video card similar dual core processor and same 1gb ram. I read that the display in z series is not very good.
What you suggest?
thank you in adnvace for your help.

Perhaps the HP nc8430 with the x1600 might be worth a look. I wrote the review for the Z61m. I found the screen to be very clear and bright. The T60 with the FlexView screen is better, but you will need to spend more money.

The Z61m is not as mobile as the R60, Z61m is a widescreen ideal for watching movies. If your budget is tight and portability is important, then you should get the R60.

The 15" models are fairly similar in weight.
Help on deciding between Z61m and R60
