Anyone here knows the reason why the X220s core i5 2520, (shiped in 17-jul with factory 1.16 bios) never get run higher 2501 mhz even the turbo mode enabled on Power managment, in turbo mode, the chip runs just from 775 - 2501mhz only. Actually I don't expect to boost the chip to 3,2ghz as it designed for turbo, but there should be some changes slighly over 2501mhz, right?
    Thank for reading.

    Thanks khtse
So the 1.19 will resolve my current issue of never getting > 2501mhz?
i wonder if the new update does not fix the issue , so can i go back with my previuos 1.16? It seems that my x220 does not have any issue with current bios except the "throttle"...

And one more thing that when i run the Thinkvantage tool box, the update does not inform me for latest bios update, is it normal ?
Bios update required being done manually?

Don't be so lazy, go to lenovo.com and check it out, it's just a few clicks.
BIOS Update Utility for Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit), XP - ThinkPad

All the previous versions and change logs are available for download on a single page.

unfortunately, update Bios require to boot from CD/DVD to update both bios and UEFI, so i have to download and burn the iso file to a bootabe CD then update to both bios and UEFI?
can i just update the normal bios just like we do as before with T/X 6.x ?

Use for the "BIOS Update Utility for Windows 7" option under the BIOS downloads - it's a program you run in Windows.

Has this issue been fixed for good or is it an ongoing issue like the IPS screen problem?

I wonder if it's worthwhile to opt for the i7 CPU option if it's throttling an i5.
