Just got my T61p WSXGA - fantastic machine, beautiful screen, very bright.

But that's just the thing. Regardless of what I do, the screen remain at full brightness.
    Lenovo tech support was useless.
    Here's what I tried and didn't work:

    - Fn keys (obviously...). The brightness level OSD is showing, but it doesn't actually do anything

    - Dim the brightness in Vista ( I have Ultimate). Same result, brightness does not change.

I'm running out of ideas. I can't understand why the screen stays at full brightness, even on battery.

    Any ideas?

    It's your video drivers.

Try re-installing your hotkey drivers over again.

If that doesn't work, update your video card drivers.

And if THAT doesn't work, roll back your drivers, or reinstall the drivers for both.

Just mess around with it, it's neither Lenovo or Vista's fault.

    It's nVIDIA's :p.

No problem :p, that's exactly what happened to me!

I tried installing laptopvideo2go drivers again after rolling back and getting my brightness to work again, and the brightness settings still worked.

What I did was I installed the drivers before the modded INF was released, and the brightness issue came up, and I rolled back, but I tried with the modded INF and it worked.

Up to you if you decide to try the drivers again. Proceed with caution :D
