If you arn't playing games, the integrated intel card will be fine with movies. The discrete will really pull from your battery life so you will be probably saving a good 40 minutes+ battery life each charge going with the Intel.

The NVIDIA card will have Purevideo though (I assume). I find MPEG2's (eg. DVD's, TV Captures) look a LOT better with Purevideo than without.

I read somewhere that the X3100 also has hardware acceleration for videos, but to what extent and whether there are any quality benefits I have no idea.

    Thanks for the reply..

For Display type, whether 14.1 WXGA TFT, w/ Camera comes with camera or without camera.

For system graphics, what is the difference between Intel GMA X3100 GM965 and Intel GMA X3100 GM965 w/ 1394 ? which one is the best to go for ??

May seem trivial, but I would recommend the fingerprint reader. It happened to come on my T60 and at the time I didn't care about it. Now I really like it and would miss it.

If you want to save some $$$ I would get the 1GB ram with the system and then buy the other 1 GB from newegg.com for half the price
