    T400 Option A:

    Pros: T9400 CPU w/ 6M L2 Cache
Cons: WXGA Screen, CCFL lit display, 5400-rpm hard drive

    T400 Option B:

    Pros: WXGA+ Screen, LED-lit display, 7200-rpm drive
    Cons: P8400 CPU w/ 3M L2 Cache, Unit Costs $120 more

I am definitely leaning towards Option B, with the brighter LED-lit screen, and sharper display. Or is the 6MB L2 Cache really all that much better?

    Thanks in advance!

    Option B.

The difference between the two CPUs is not that pronounced for most tasks. At worst, CPU bound applications (e.g. media encoding) will take 10-15% longer on the P8400.

The screen is far more important for most users in most situations.

Definitely option B for the extra money. The P8400 will also help with battery life.
