I have a T60 with Win XPsp2. I also have a fingerprint reader but due to it rarely working correctly I have it disabled and use the standard windows logon.

Sometimes after I cntrl-alt-delete and enter my password, my computer displays my desktop for a moment or two while it loads software but ultimately reverts back to the cntrl-alt-delete screen without ever giving me access to the desktop. I then go through the process again of logging on and then everything logs on fine.

Does anyone know why it sometimes "reverts back to the logon page" after I've first entered my password? Is there an update I can install that will fix this?
