I have a ~ 6 month old Y470 that only came with regular hard drive.

I decided to add mSATA SSD just to speed up the boot time and the frequently used programs.

Any way to migrate the Windows 7 OS to mSATA SSD easily without losing the data on the old hard drive?

    I've made the Recovery DVDs.

If I remove the hard drive and recover Windows 7 to the SSD, will I have re-install all the programs or will they still be "linked" to the newly installed Windows 7.
    How about my user data?

I apologize if this is a dumb question.
