I just made a clean install of my X200s.

Made every effort to let the WiMAX to work. However, the WiMAX option still cannot be displayed in the FN+F5.

I think i install all of the drivers in a right squence. X200s and X200t users, do you have any ideas?

    Many thanks.

Hey there, I'm using the W500 on a vista x64 ultimate and have the 5350, so it shouldn't be all that different from your setup. What OS are you on? Also, do you have Access Connections installed?

I've noticed that the wimax option will not show up in the Fn + F5 on screen display if you have any of the services for the Wimax disabled (something I've done when I wasn't using it for an extended period of time), or of course, if you disable the wimax adapter in Network connections, or if your uninstall for Access connections doesn't go properly. I'm curious, does your 5350 show up as 2 separate adapters in Device Manager and in Network Adapters? It should show you one icon for the Wimax adapter and another icon for the Wifi adapter.

Although I don't like to use AC, it does have some added functionality for wimax as opposed to the Windows vista settings, so you might want to try reinstalling it, or leave it out for the time being and install the independent wimax driver which was released on May 12th. You can get that here: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-70811

(This is a vista driver btw)

    Let me know what happens.

    Riz,

I am using Vista Business version.

Yes, i do installed the WiMAX driver you mentioned above. And it do shows two seperate device, one for Wifi, and the other for WiMAX.

I used the System Update 1.42 version to install all of my drivers, so it should be all correct drivers.

But i guess it may relate to AC. Just like you, i dont like this software, which slows down the system bootup. I am trying to install now. I will let you know if my problem still exist or not, since i am out of the States and no phone support from Lenovo is available.

    Many thanks man.

    Riz,

I've installed the AC. But the icon for wimax still cannot lighten up.

Do you think i might be because of there is no wimax service in my current area and it will only show up in the service are??

Whether the service is available or not should effect the on-screen display functionality of the Wimax icon.

I'm sorry that it hasn't resolved your problem, I'm sort of out of ideas, but I would suggest that you also try uninstalling and reinstalling the On Screen Display, as I'm sure that the functioning of these programs and on-screen display do somehow depend on which order they're installed.

Just to make sure that the Wimax connection is working, what happens when you try to set up a wimax connection through Vista instead of AC? Then does it show your wimax adapter is being on and active and ready to search for operators?

Not to sound insulting here, but did you restart after your installation of Access Connections?

One other thing you can try is uninstalling that separate Wimax Driver, because Access connections did include the driver originally.

    Riz,

I've made every effort you've mentioned, but no luck.

I'll call lenovo support after i come back to the States.

    Many thanks tough!

    Regards

I'm having the same problem as well. I did a clean install on my X200s with XP SP3 and WiMax functionality won't even appear. In device manager it shows up as missing. I have AC installed and WIFI shows up there, but WiMax does not. Will try to fix it over the next few days.
