Hello, I am pulling my hair out and really need some help. I have posted on some other forums and happened upon this Lenovo/IBM forum and hope some here might have the same problem.

I back up my information on Mat****a UJDA765 DVD/CDRW using Fugifilm DVD 8x with no problem. I picked up some new DVD's a the store months ago on sale that are Memorex and these after opening them and them not working, I realized are 16x.

I called Memorex and they told me I have to update the laptops hardware to use 16x because the computer is not recognizing the 16x. I have tired three different wants to burn these new Memorex 16x dvd and the computer will not find them.

I can't figure out how to make them accept the memorex 16x or if that is even possible.

Anyway, what I do not get is I right clicked the CD/DVD drive and properties the record. Under fastest it list everything for 1x to 146x which includes the 16x.

Sorry I am so ranting however I am pulling my hair out trying to figure this out. I really hate tossing these 100 DVD spinal I bought but my computer will not read them.

Any input would be great appreatcated
    Kimberly

The UJDA765 is a DVD/CDRW drive and won't burn DVDs.

Are you sure it's the same models as the ones you used?

A quick search on Google only spits out DVD-ROM/CD-RW results.
