hello everyone, this is my first post and i'd appreciate your feedback on which thinkpad is best for me.
i've never had the need to buy a laptop/notebook before but i'm going off to university soon and i've been doing some research.

there are a few points as well as a few questions that i'd like to discuss with you guys and i'd really appreciate your feedback.

I'm studying for a business degree so high end graphics are not exactly on top of my list. however, i'd like to be able to watch VCD's and DVD's once in a while when i'm on the train/coach/plane

my research also tells me that the only processor worth getting would be a Pentium 4 Mobility. I'm looking at 1.5 and above.

    1) The most important feature to me (funnily enough) is the keyboard.
are all the keyboards across the thinkpad range pretty similar or does one particularly stand out from the rest?

    2) The second most important feature would be wireless connectivity
wi-fi and bluetooth is a must

    3) I'd also need the cdrw/dvd-rw combo drive

    4) Memory and hard drives are pretty configurable and i'm thinking of 2 slots of 512 as well as a 40gig HDD (let me know what u think)

i'm not TOO concerned about weight so the R as well as the T series should be ok. (the G would be too heavy and the X would not justify the costs IMO)

The main reviews i can find are mainly regarding the updated R50(e) and the T41/T41P. Would it make a difference if i got an older but more souped up version? the main problem is that there are not many of the older models which support bluetooth. (is there a way around this, like some component that u can put inside the laptop to make it bluetooth?)

my friends DO tell me that the configurations i'm looking into surpass my daily needs but I'm looking to keep the laptop for at least the duration of my study (3 years) without it becoming obsolete.

i'm also having difficulty finding online retailers in europe (i'm from london) that do custom configurations for Thinkpads. Somehow or another all the configurations have something that i'd like to 'change'

well..i thats all i can think of the top of my head right now..
thanks for taking the time to read and hopefully reply this!
